Co-owners and siblings Jay Gibson and Eileen Gibson Funke are writers who appreciate both the solitude of writing and the value of social contact throughout the day. They envisioned The Writers Junction as the perfect space to write.

Eileen is a graduate of Yale University and a writer.  Until founding the Writers Junction she worked for film director Walter Salles on The Motorcycle Diaries, the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and other projects. Jay is a writer, storyboard artist, and the founding president and board member of The Young Storytellers Foundation. He is a graduate of Brown University, and currently writes for The Young and the Restless.

Why “The Junction?”
The Writers Junction is named for The Junction, a Pennsylvania crossroads where their large extended family originates. It’s a place where everything comes together — railroads, rivers, friends, and family. Populated by steel and textile workers, coal miners, and railroaders, it’s a place that respects hard work. The Writers Junction carries that spirit forward — a place where good people, great ideas, and the hard work of writing converge.
